SAP Uses Visual WebGui to Develop Global Test Management Web App

Visual WebGui saves SAP more than $720K in development costs

Gizmox announced that SAP saved more than $720,000 in development costs of its web-based global test management system using Visual WebGui's application development framework.

SAP's NetWeaver UI Test Development team delivered their VWG-based web application in 9 months using only 2 developers, cutting SAP's expenditures on development time and personnel costs by more than 50% from the team's original 5 person, 18 month allocation.

SAP's NetWeaver UI Test Development team was charged with creating a global, centralized test management application needed to manage testing resources and test plans being developed around the world. The completed VWG-based application called SNAP (SAP NetWeaver Test Automation Project) serves more than 500 users worldwide, with ongoing maintenance and new releases handled by an even smaller team than the original 2 developers.

Visual WebGui allows software developers to create web applications in a Windows and ASP.NET environment by porting their newly developed or upgraded existing applications to the Ajax or Silverlight web environment. Users can develop applications in WinForms and dual deploy to the web as ASP.NET or as a standalone WinForms applications. The Visual WebGui client employs JavaScript, XSL and CSS to deliver applications-like GUI components that look, feel, and behave like their desktop counterparts on the web.
